My New Year’s Resolution

nwmyersdesign, inspiration

I love the new year. It’s always full of hope and expectations for a clean start and good things in the horizon. Most every year I set goals and some of them get accomplished and some do not. My biggest goal of 2014 took a full year and 1 day to accomplish: to fully redesign my website. Needless to say I expected to get that goal done a lot faster but life happens. This year I have a mental list of things I’d like to do but instead of share that list I’m sharing one simple resolution for my 2015: Be Relentless.

I know, I couldn’t have picked a more generic and vague resolution. I’m someone who loves lists, specific goals, and practical ways to apply and measure those goals. So a resolution as vague as “Be Relentless” is a little outside my normal resolutions. It’s also not the most positive word to use to define your new year. When I typed it into google the definition that popped up was “oppressively constant; incessant.” Not exactly characteristics of someone I would enjoy hanging out with. However, for myself, it perfectly sums up how I need to be in order to succeed this new year. If you know me, you know I’m a more introverted, laid back, go with the flow type of guy. Now I’m not planning on giving my personality a complete overhaul this year however I’m  choosing to become more determined and persistent when it comes to my business and marketing my work and services.

For me “Be Relentless” isn’t a goal to achieve but an attitude and mindset in which I can use to achieve my goals. So instead of a list of goals without a plan on how to achieve them I’m starting the new year off with a mindset that I can apply to every goal I have, whether that’s to get more clients or simply to go to the gym more consistently.

I’d love to hear your resolutions for the new year. Hopefully you can be relentless in your pursuit of your goals for 2015.

Stay inspired,
